Cindy Lorion is the Nurse Manager of a Neurovascular Unit and an Orthopedic Unit at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Oregon. She graduated with her Baccalaureate Degree from Oregon Health & Sciences University and Masters of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Portland, both in Portland, Oregon. Cindy is also a Clinical Instructor at Linfield College School of Nursing. She actively advocates for improving clinical education for nursing students, as well as providing on-going opportunities to transition new nurses from novice to expert. She has developed a Medical-Surgical Certification review class at her hospital, and in the last 2 1/2 years 97 nurses have successfully passed the Med-Surg certification exam.
