Dr. Kathleen Stevens’ career is dedicated to building bridges between education, research, and practice for excellence. This long-standing devotion to research application has positioned her as one of today’s top experts in evidence-based practice and improvement science. Throughout her career, she has innovated strategies, infrastructures, and policies to achieve improvement in healthcare.
She serves on international and national boards, setting policy, standards, and directions for healthcare transformation for quality and patient safety. She has garnered significant funding to advance evidence-based quality and published numerous articles and chapters about these advances. Her contributions are recognized through multiple awards such as the STTI Episteme Laureate award, National League for Nursing Research award, induction into the International Nurse Scientist Hall of Fame, and induction into the American Academy of Nursing.
In her current role as Director of the Academic Center of Evidence-Based Practice (ACE), Dr. Stevens is a leader in the inter-professional advancement of improvement science through the innovative virtual collaboratory, the Improvement Science Research Network.
