Robin Hertel has been a practicing nurse for more than 25 years. Her nursing education journey includes training as an LPN, an ADN, a BSN, and as a master's-prepared nurse with an advanced degree in education. Throughout her years of practice, she has worked primarily as a medical-surgical nurse in an acute care setting but has also worked in academia. She is currently working in the corporate setting as a nursing education specialist. Robin has published articles covering topics such as osteoarthritis, pain management, PTSD, the Affordable Care Act, mandatory staffing levels, and nurse activism. She has presented at national conventions to nurses on topics including clinical leadership and legislative issues as well as presenting medical-surgical certification review courses. Robin is certified as a medical-surgical nurse and has been a member of AMSN for more than 15 years. She has served on several volunteer units with AMSN and is currently serving as the president of the AMSN Board of Directors.
