Microaggressions are the subtle behaviors, actions, and attitudes towards members from minoritized communities. Microaggressions degrade trust, reduce opportunities, and contribute to disparities faced by minorities. The impact on nursing extends from recruitment, retention, and representation in the healthcare environment. Anyone can be an ally and decrease the impact of microaggressions on marginalized groups.
