This session will describe the stages of chronic kidney disease - who is at risk, what each stage presents with, and what interventions can be used to slow the progression. Following the introduction to chronic kidney disease, stages and risks case studies will be shared to illustrate the patient presentations, assessments, interventions, and potential outcomes. Pharmacology utilized to slow the progression of CKD will be highlighted as well as that used to treat the symptoms commonly noted in the later stages of the CKD process.
