222 - Psychiatric and Interventions Education for Nurses Reducing the Stigma towards Mentally Ill Patients

This session will address explore the influence that education focused on reducing acute care nurse stigmas related to mentally ill patients can play in influencing more effective medical treatment.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify five to six medical conditions associated with psychiatric symptoms/illness
  • Recognize four to five behavioral barriers, contributing factors, and five major pathways affecting the patient in the medical unit
  • Integrate five to seven interventions provided to assist with a patient with mental illness/symptoms.
