This session provides an overview of the evolution of quality and safety in healthcare over the past 25 years and is relevant to a broad range of healthcare professionals interested in understanding the core aspects of quality and safety in modern healthcare practice. Key initiatives, challenges, and opportunities in improving quality and safety, as well as strategies for moving forward will be explored.

Outcome: 80% of participants who complete the evaluation will identify one strategy they can implement in their practice setting to improve the quality and safety of patient care.

Target Audience: This session is relevant to a broad range of healthcare professionals, including nurses, physicians, quality and safety professionals, healthcare administrators, and students. Attendees will gain insights into the evolution of quality and safety in healthcare over the past 25 years, and how this has informed current best practices and trends.
