Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) patients and their families frequently experience bias from healthcare providers, creating barriers to their willingness to seek and receive healthcare. Nurses and other healthcare providers owe it to all our patients to build relationships, providing understanding, support, and culturally sensitive care. This webinar will equip the nurse with the knowledge to understand their biases and the challenges encountered by LGBTQ people and to identify strategies to implement and approaches that can be used in our units and hospitals to provide sensitive, pertinent, and supportive care.

Learning Outcome

At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be able to identify strategies and behaviors that can be used in our units and hospitals to provide sensitive, pertinent, and supportive care to LGBTQ patients and their families.
