Advances in the use of insulin treatment of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus have changed how they are used in patient care. This session reviews the normal physiologic insulin secretion by pancreas, types of insulin available, automated insulin delivery systems, insulin pump, and closed loop insulin delivery systems.
