This session reviews the statistics surrounding med-surg patients with psychiatric diagnoses and some strategies that support quality care. One tragic case scenario is shared highlighting the steps taken to continue to promote patient safety and to support the physical and emotional well-being of the unique care team best suited to treat these patients.
