133 - Living with COPD: Nursing Management Using a Case Study

This session follows two individuals suffering from COPD and their caregiver from diagnosis through treatment. The case study includes the tough decisions involved in palliative and end-of-life care. We also discuss the physiologic differences of emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and Alpha-1 Antitrypsin deficiency and how the slight differences matter in individual treatment. COPD diagnosis and the nurse’s role in managing COPD is also addressed.
