243 - "Nurse, Can You Hear Me? I Am Not an Addict. I Am in Pain."

This session will explain the differences between addiction, tolerance, and pseudo-addiction; define
different types of pain and how to assess a patient who reports pain accurately; and provide examples
of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies available to medical-surgical nurses to
assist the patient experiencing pain.
