This session describes the nurse's pivotal role in an evidence-based accelerated recovery program for colorectal surgical patients, including multimodal analgesia, euvolemic status, diet, ambulation, and patient education. The presenter also discusses how postoperative complications and patient length of stay can be decreased without affecting patient safety.
