NICHE Physician-Led Interdisciplinary Rounds

This session shows how interdisciplinary rounds are successful in improving quality of care and enhancing communication by taking a holistic approach to coordination of care and supportive services for the individual and family and combining each staff member’s knowledge and skills to develop an appropriate plan of care for each patient.

Objectives:
• Identify ways to begin physician led interdisciplinary rounding on the NICHE unit. 
• Discuss specific strategies, successes, and lessons learned throughout the process.
• Describe the impact of physician-led interdisciplinary rounds as it relates to increase in quality-of-life consults and increase in patient satisfaction with pain management
• Discuss the sustained effects of physician-led interdisciplinary rounds and how they. further impacted work practice on the NICHE unit.
