Description
Care of the Oncology Patient prepares medical‑surgical
nurses to safely care for patients with cancer across care settings. Learners
will gain a foundational understanding of common cancers, cancer treatments,
and treatment‑related side effects, with a focus on recognizing high‑risk
symptoms, interpreting lab trends, and escalating care early. Through case‑based
learning, the course emphasizes symptom management, patient education,
psychosocial support, hazardous drug safety, and effective communication to
promote safe, coordinated oncology care.
