Performing Manual and Continuous Bladder Irrigation

Cindy brings 44 years of medical-surgical nursing experience, including work as a preceptor and general surgery clinician, and 12 years as a clinical nurse specialist focused on nursing practice and quality. She has published extensively in peer‑reviewed journals on topics such as postoperative pain management, safe opioid use in patients with obstructive sleep apnea, clinical nurse specialist practice, clinical advancement programs, nurse‑physician collaborative rounding, shared governance, and bladder irrigation. This presentation will identify best practices for manual and continuous bladder irrigation, troubleshooting techniques, and methods to improve nursing care of patients requiring bladder irrigation and decrease the risk of adverse events
