Description
Out of Hospital Emergencies -- What Every Nurse Should Know
Presented By: Linda Laskowski-Jones, MS, APRN, ACNS-BC, CEN, NEA-BC, NREMT, FAWM, FAAN
Nurses may encounter emergency situations outside the four walls of their traditional practice setting, but nursing schools rarely
prepare nurses to provide first line care. These events can be anxiety-producing because they occur outside of a nurse’s usual comfort
zone. This presentation will inform nurses about how to identify emergency care priorities based upon initial assessment findings,
perform initial interventions to address immediate threats to life, and describe practical management approaches in the field using
improvised materials when necessary.
