This session examines how frailty, when characterized using EHR clinical data, can be used in risk prediction models to identify patients at high risk for adverse outcomes. Focus is given to the need for increased resource intensive care and individualized nursing care planning to help prevent clinical deterioration, which can lead to ICU transfer and in-hospital mortality.
