Doris Velasquez is a Clinical Nurse Educator and Informaticist at Eisenhower Health in Rancho Mirage, California, where she serves as the clinical nurse educator for medical surgical, orthopedic, inpatient rehabilitation, and telemetry units. Ms. Velasquez is also the Nurse Residency Site Coordinator for Eisenhower's new graduate nurse program. She has taught undergraduate nursing for California State University - San Bernardino since 2007. Her nursing background includes emergency/trauma, medical surgical, education, and community/public health nursing. Ms. Velasquez has participated in the AMSN Convention Planning Committee, as an Item Writer for the Care Coordination Transition Management Exam, and is currently serving on the Care Coordination Transition Management Test Development Committee. Ms. Velasquez was instrumental in the development of Eisenhower Health's first local professional nursing organization - the Medical Surgical Nurses of the Desert Chapter #621.
