Pamela Garrett is a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Pulmonary Program Coordinator at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Pam has been a nurse for almost 40 years, and a Clinical Nurse Specialist for over 30 years! She has practiced extensively in critical care and med-surg settings, as well as teaching in an undergraduate program at Mercer University in Atlanta. As the Pulmonary Program Coordinator, Pam oversees the inpatient care of patients with COPD and pneumonia, ensuring care is evidence-based and meets best practice standards. She leads the transitions of care team for these populations. Pam is passionate about helping the COPD patients manage their disease well in their home environment. She is a champion for non-invasive positive pressure ventilation for patients with chronic hypercapnic respiratory failure.
