Peter Buerhaus PhD, RN, FAAN, FAANP(h)

Dr. Peter Buerhaus is a Professor of Nursing and Director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Health Workforce Studies at Montana State University’s College of Nursing. Before Montana State University, Dr. Buerhaus was a professor of Nursing and Professor of Health Policy at Vanderbilt University (2000-2015), and Assistant Professor of health policy and management at Harvard School of Public Health (1992-2000). He has published more than 120 peer-reviewed articles with five publications designated as “Classics” by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality Patient Safety Network. Dr. Buerhaus was inducted into the American Academy of Nursing in 1994 and elected into the National Academy of Sciences Institute of Medicine in 2003.
