James Persad is a Clinical Nurse and Assistant Head Nurse on McKeen Pavilion, an amenities unit, at New York Presbyterian, Columbia University Medical Center in New York. He has been in nursing for over 40 years. James is a peer educator in the Nurse Residency program and is called upon frequently to give presentations to novice nurses. He has also served as a Clinical Instructor for Columbia University School of Nursing. James was the recipient of the Clinical Nurse Excellence Award at New York Presbyterian Medical Center in 2015. His 2016 AMSN conference poster “Preventing Health Care Associated Infections in a Global Population” was rated as one of the top 10 posters and was made into a YouTube video that is available for viewing.
