Cynthia Calabrese MSN, RN-BC

Cynthia "Cindi" Calabrese has 27 years' experience as a registered nurse and has been a nurse educator for 16 years. She graduated with a master of science in nursing from Drexel University in 2013. Cindi holds two certifications from the American Nurses Credentialing Center: nursing professional development and general nursing practice. She is a member of ANPD, AMSN, and SHET/NJ (immediate past-president and board member at-large).

Cindi is employed as an education outcomes manager at Inspira Medical Center Elmer, which is a Magnet-designated hospital. Cindi's experience includes planning and presenting general employee and nursing orientation programs, competency evaluation, implementing various education activities, partnering to maintain continual regulatory compliance and readiness, co-coordinating student affiliations and promoting professional development of nursing staff. Cindi serves on multiple councils within her organization's shared governance structure, and is also a member of a number of in-house committees related to product evaluation, equipment management, and quality improvement initiatives. She also currently serves as the co-chair of the pressure ulcer prevention quality team. Cindi is the editor of the Nursing Matters newsletter, published quarterly for Inspira nurses. Cindi was a poster presenter at the AMSN Convention in 2009.

During her years in her educator role, Cindi has developed interest in documentation legalities and related issues impacting the nursing profession. Cindi feels that the topic of social media is relevant to today's nurses and her goal for today's presentation is to stimulate conversation about this topic while offering sound advice on utilizing electronic social media.
