Tracy Fogarty Scheirer is an instructor of nursing at Alvernia University in Reading, Pennsylvania. She has been a nurse for over 30 years and has worked clinically in medical surgical, intensive care, outpatient OB/GYN, community health, and pediatric settings. Currently, she teaches med/surg, transcultural nursing, and community health at Alvernia University and serves as the founder and chairperson of the Berks Immunization Coalition, an advocacy organization that seeks to educate the community about the benefits of vaccination. Tracy is currently a doctoral student at Widener University and about to defend her final dissertation related to the topic of moral distress. She has been studying the concept for the last four years and has presented on this subject many times in her local community.
