Allison Perkins received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Spanish from Niagara University in New York. She began her nursing career on a med-surg unit and then transferred to a critical care step down unit where she fell in love with the cardiovascular system and ECG Interpretation. Wishing to share her knowledge and improve patient care and outcomes, she obtained her MSN as an Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist from the University of San Diego. She has been a Certified CNS at the San Diego VA Healthcare System for the past 10 years on a med-surg telemetry unit. Allison is also an adjunct faculty member at San Diego State University where she has taught med-surg clinicals and nursing leadership to undergraduate nurses as well as serves as a CNS preceptor. She has held local and national positions in AMSN, including Chapter President of the San Diego Chapter and member of the national Chapter Resource Committee.
