Mary Hatam began her career as a primary care nurse in the neonatal ICU at Harris Methodist-Fort Worth Hospital in Fort Worth, TX. She has practiced nursing across 3 states. In 1990, she came to Pittsburgh, holding various positions in both clinical and education, while expanding her nursing knowledge and expertise in both medical-surgical and psychiatric nursing. She became a board certified adult psychiatric clinical nurse specialist in 2005 and has held a private counseling and consulting practice since. Since 2011 she has worked in the medical inpatient setting as a psychiatric advanced practice nurse (APN) for medicine services at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
