Alice Marie Poyss PhD, RN, APRN-BC

Dr. Alice Poyss has practiced medical-surgical nursing for the past 40 plus years and has taught in both undergraduate and graduate programs at three universities. She came to Drexel University’s College of Nursing and Health Professions in 1992 as an Associate Professor in the RN-BSN program and is currently the CNL Track Director for their graduate program. Her particular clinical expertise is gastrointestinal surgery, nutrition support, and nutrition screening of adults and elderly. Dr. Poyss has participated in the Iowa Nursing Intervention Classification Project and authored two nursing interventional labels for the project. Her funded research includes Evaluation of an Alternative Care Delivery System in Critical Care Nursing.
