Dr. Angela Simmons is an Army Nurse with over 28 years of experience in nursing. She takes pride in being a med-surg nurse who is also a nurse scientist. Her research focuses on factors that influence resilience and spirituality. Dr. Simmons previous assignments include the Chief of the Center for Nursing Science and Clinical Inquiry, and the Dean for the Army School of Nursing. Dr. Simmons currently works as the Commandant and Associate Dean for Research at the Uniformed Services University for the Health Sciences Graduate School of Nursing. Mentoring is something near and dear to her heart as she has grown numerous military and civilian nurses into successful senior leaders.
