Katiuska Peppard is a registered nurse in the National Capital Region. She worked as a med-surg and critical care nurse for over ten years serving active-duty service members and veterans, including deployment to Los Angeles as a COVID-19 nurse. Katiuska now serves as an occupational health and safety nurse for a civilian agency. She also serves as an auditor for the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN) and for medical-surgical nursing recertification (CMSRN). She’s a Project Firstline Facilitator for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Washington, DC Department of Health. Katiuska is co-developing a continuing education pilot program for nurses through the Andean Health & Development healthcare system in Ecuador. Prior roles include domestic and international education programs for the United States Bone and Joint Initiative (USBJI) and as ambassador and Disaster Preparedness Educator for the American Red Cross. She has a bachelor of science degree in nursing and is a certified medical-surgical nurse.
