Director of Nursing Informatics, Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System
Dr. Charla Johnson has over 34 years of experience in the healthcare industry and in nursing with a majority of her nursing career aimed at the promotion of musculoskeletal care and the advancement of orthopedic nursing in the region, state, and at the national level through life-long learning and leadership. Currently, Charla serves as the director of nursing informatics at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System. In this role, Charla is responsible for promoting interoperability of the electronic health record and the system integration of evidence-based practice into the documentation paths for clinicians. Charla is board certified in orthopedic nursing and nursing informatics. She is the immediate past president of the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses (NAON) Executive Board (2021-22), and has served on the Movement is Life Board, the Louisiana Arthritis Foundation Board, and as the nominating committee chair for Baton Rouge District Nurses Association.
