Dr. Danielle Larkin is an assistant clinical professor at Auburn University College of Nursing. She joined AUCON in January 2021 from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, where she received a dual master’s/doctoral degree in 2020. Larkin spent nearly 15 years in Southern California where she trained to be a nurse at Kaiser Permanente and UCLA Santa Monica. Prior to receiving her bachelor’s degree in nursing from National University in San Diego in 2012, Dr. Larkin received a bachelor’s degree in women’s studies from Goucher College, Maryland. In Birmingham, she was an infection preventionist at Encompass Health Lakeshore Rehabilitation Hospital and worked at UAB in inpatient oncology, palliative care, and hospice. As a graduate teaching assistant at the UAB School of Nursing, she worked in the simulation lab and competency suite. Her scholarship has been published in the Journal of Hospice and Palliative Nursing.
