Sharron Coffie MSN, RN, CNS

Director, Opioid Safety, UT Southwestern Medical Center

Sharron Coffie has 40 years’ experience as a registered nurse and received her CNS certification in 2010. Her vast experience covers both inpatient and outpatient settings in many different types of leadership positions. She has a long history of EBP, QI, and Lean process improvements. She currently holds a unique position as a nursing director for opioid safety for UT Southwestern Medical Center. Sharron has received a number of awards, including DFW Great 100 Nurses Award, Dallas D-Magazine Excellence in Nursing Award, UW-Milwaukee College of Nursing 50 Distinguished Nursing Alumni Award, and the National Association of CNSs CNS Preceptor of the Year Award. She has presented at national, state, regional, and local conferences on various topics. She received her BSN degree from St. Louis University and her MSN degree from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
