Dr. Christy Greenhalgh is an assistant clinical professor in the family nurse practitioner program at Auburn University. She teaches in advanced health assessment, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and the clinical courses of the FNP program. Her teaching experience includes clinical settings, the classroom, and online courses. Her clinical background includes more than 10 years in the emergency room, first as an RN and then as a nurse practitioner. She also worked for 3 years as a cardiology nurse practitioner. Throughout her clinical career, Dr. Greenhalgh has prescribed and administered anticoagulant therapy, extensively studied its pharmacology and taken multiple courses related to anticoagulant therapy, with the most recent courses related to the pharmacologic effects of anticoagulants on the COVID-19 virus. Dr. Greenhalgh is a member of multiple national nursing organizations and a member of the policy committee for the Nurse Practitioner Alliance of Alabama, actively working with Alabama's politicians to further NP scope of practice within the state.
