Dr. Alexia Johnson is the director of patient care services, with operational oversight for an adult medical-surgical unit. In this capacity, she oversees clinical operations, nursing quality care, and implementation of best and emerging practices of medical patients. She has previously functioned as a centrally based clinical nurse specialist for the entire University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System, focusing on implementation of evidence-based practice, quality, clinical competency, and education. She received a BSN(h) degree from Loyola University, and a master's degree in acute care nursing and a doctor of nursing practice degree in leadership from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is also a board-certified clinical nurse specialist, with additional certifications in nursing leadership, professional development, and critical care nursing.
