Lynn Sprayberry PhD, RN

Dr. Lynn Sprayberry has taught and/or practiced direct-care nursing for over four decades. Recently she worked as a staff nurse in emergency and trauma care, where she experienced first-hand the difficult challenges of a highly regulated and volatile healthcare system. Problems she observed inspired her to write two articles on the topic, which were published in MEDSURG Nursing Journal. She earned the 2014 AMSN Professional Issues Writer’s Award for her first article titled: Transformation of America’s Healthcare System: Implications for Professional Direct-care Nurses. Now, as an independent researcher, speaker, and freelance writer, Dr. Sprayberry continues to advocate for the nursing profession. She speaks with nurses throughout the country, challenging them to lead in the resolution of complex issues.
