Description

Our standards of nursing practice delineate nurses should employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment. This applies to both patient and staff teaching opportunities. An active learning process, such as the use of games or gamification, fosters retention, engagement, and motivation. This session explores the use of game-based learning or gamification, including technology-driven strategies, to improve patient adherence and staff education.

Learning Outcome:
After completing this learning activity, the participant will be able to define gamification or game-based learning to be able to use games to facilitate assessment and implementation of learning.
