OD14 - Sickle Cell: History and Care Considerations for the Acutely Ill

Description

This review provides a foundation to prepare you to assess, identify treatment (including pharmacotherapy), and prevent further complications in patients with sickle cell disease. Mild-to-moderate complications, such as acute pain crisis which are treated in an acute care unit and more severe complications related to emboli that often require transfer to intensive care, are reviewed.
