Are you studying for the Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN®) certification exam? Do you need a review of total body systems? If so, this course is designed for you! It includes:
• A brief review of the function of each body system
• Fluids and electrolytes
• Common pathological conditions and treatments
• Appropriate nursing interventions
For those taking the exam, there is a short section on testtaking tips and a review of the CMSRN exam blueprint. There are also several exam-style questions at the end of each section to help you practice evaluating multiple-choice questions. This course is also ideal for nurses who are:
• New to the specialty
• Transitioning from another practice area
• Seeking to refresh their medical-surgical nursing knowledge

Learning Objectives:

  • Relate the pathophysiology basics of various disease states to the nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation necessary.
  • Identify outcome criteria and evaluative criteria used by nurses to determine effectiveness of nursing care of various Medical-Surgical patients.
  • Outline the legal, ethical, and professional responsibilities inherent in being a Medical-Surgical nurse caring for a variety of patients.
