This session provides a systematic view of the dying process and the nursing care of the dying patient. The use of the compassion fatigue intervention of a Code Lavender debriefing session to assist nurses with coping also will be described.

Identify how an integrative approach to well-being improves awareness of self-care and self-care practices for nurses. Components of mindful awareness, emotional intelligence, and self-compassion are discussed, followed by experiential micro-restorative practices which can be incorporated into the workday to relieve stress and promote caregiver well-being.
