Great article. We have implemented an ERAS program (early recovery after surgery). Unfortunately, it only works well when the patient is ambulated early. Still need more education.

This article does not offer information on isolated pts - probably another reason why RNs & technicians are reluctant to initiate EM with ambulation in the hallway or outside room.
